Takeaway beer available - the wonderful Gold from our local @hadhambrewery. We have re-usable 2 pint pots for sale, or we can happily fill any sealed container of your own. Bottled beers also available.

We are fully booked for roast dinner takeaways today Sun 29th. Drink takeouts are still available.
We never realised we would be as busy as we have been this week, so a massive thank you to all those we've supplied, and a massive sorry to those we couldn't supply.

We"ll be doing it all again next week!

Sunday Roasts to take away? Certainly. We still have some slots for takeaway roasts tomorrow (Sunday 29th) between 12pm & 4pm. Phone us on 01920 822157. Vegetarian & Allergen free options available!

We are full now for Sat eve (28th), but can take slot bookings for next week.

First two entries into our Window Rainbow competio

First two entries into our Window Rainbow competion! It's a simple idea:

Child draws a rainbow, put it through our letterbox with contact details on the back, and once we have a few on display (let's fill the window!) we'll get someone independent to choose a favourite and we'll get a prize for the creator, and a prize for Mummy & Daddy, because they're special too!

So whoever you are, you have have touched hearts, and we thank you.

It's these littler things that matter in these times, so maybe we should all reach out to someone every day - it might just make all the difference.

Brown Bear Central Command is now set up for the duration. All ready to play GTA 5. Sorry, I meant take orders for takeaway food.... Just need to find an old extinct volcano to move in to, and my work is done.....

The government have added off licence sales to the

The government have added off licence sales to the list of essential businesses. Whilst that might be debatable, we are open this evening (indeed Weds - Sat 6 - 8.3pm) for takeout beer, bottled wine & beer.
Some draught products won't be available forever, but cask ale remains available to us at present. Prices remain at pre lockdow levels. Entry will be limited in line with distancing regs.

So it looks like the latest regulations enable to continue to off takeaway food and drink. So later we will publish the menu.
We will be doing free delivery, we have a procedure in place to avoid contact.
We will allow collections but these will be heavily time managed to maintain now more than 2 people in the public area.

We will also offer other items to those people in need, subject to availability.

We will be offering food and drink.

We will be enforcing any government advice.

We want to help where we can, and we need to maintain some income, but we will not do anything against ongoing advice and legislation.

We liked the idea about Window Rainbows, so Steve

We liked the idea about Window Rainbows, so Steve the landlord (aged 50 & 3/4) has drawn one. He's not very good with pens.

So we thought, let's invite the children of Braughing to draw a picture of a rainbow, put their name on it and pop it through our letterbox. We'll put them all up in our big window, and then in a week or so we'll get someone independent to choose their favourite, and we'll give the winner a prize.

If a name and address could go on the back so we can get the winners prize to them it would be helpful.

The new-look Sat night in the Bear. Me, my special hand and mouth wash, and an un-cooperative cat.

We are open for takeaway drink until 9.30pm, and we have a limited amount of food on takeaway as well.

Full Sunday Roasts on takeaway tomorrow afternoon, 12-4pm, unless we sell out earlier. Bookings taken of course!

Catherine will be working hard in the Pie mines as well as attending the curry pumps to offer a range of her homemade delights from Wednesday. Fresh fish and chips from Thursday, possibly Wednesday. It'll be the like having the Bear in your front room....

We have takeaway food available, with a full takeaway menu to be launched next week (deliveries available, watch this spa e)

We can do takeaway drink - wines by the bottles, beers by the bottle or in 2 pint containers, we can even do takeaway spirit measures.

And for those unable to get out, we have many of the necessities available (eggs, toilet roll, flour etc), and are happy to get items in for people when we can.
